"Bringing out the gardener that is inside any and everyone of us."

I once gave a little plum tree up for dead. A season later it came back on its own - and so did I. MyGardenGuru grew out of that garden.

How it works

Three habits, one calmer garden.

Each step compounds. You move from one-off rescues to a routine your plants - and you - can rely on.

01Step

Ask one useful question

MyGardenGuru starts by narrowing uncertainty, then answers with a practical plan.

02Step

Build your garden memory

Each check-in learns your plants, your environment, and what you already tried.

03Step

Grow from panic to pattern

You move from emergency fixes to calm routines that make your garden sturdier over time.

Why I built this

In early 2024, I thought I was the luckiest person alive - a passionate technologist who'd spent nearly three decades building the infrastructure behind some of the systems you use every day. Then the panic attacks started, and I learned I'd been quietly carrying depression and anxiety for far longer than I knew.

I left tech - not for a new idea, but because I physically and mentally couldn't go on. Almost by accident, I started building a garden from scratch in Oceanside: the beds, the irrigation, the hardscape, and a row of tiny fruit trees propagated from my parents' trees. A plum tree I'd written off as dead came back after the rains, and so did I.

Growing things humbled me - the advice online, including the AI I leaned on, was confident even when it was dangerously wrong. So I combined two things I never expected to use together, software and an old agricultural engineering degree, and built the calm, careful gardening mentor I wished I'd had.

A note from the founder

"It was my garden that saved me."

Over the past two years, since I planted my front rose garden, little kids keep stopping by to smell the blooms - leaning in wide-eyed, asking their parents questions. It makes me wonder why that wonder fades in most of us as we grow up. Mine had gone into hiding too. In 2024, panic attacks forced me to face years of depression and anxiety. I left tech not for a new idea, but because I physically and mentally couldn't go on. So I started a garden from nothing. A plum tree I'd given up for dead came back after the rains. So did I. I built MyGardenGuru so yours can come back out too.

See why a suggestion fits

Important recommendations include clear supporting context from your own plant history, not black-box magic.

"Planting is the easy part. Keeping things alive is a whole other world."
"I trusted the AI completely - until the afternoon it almost made me poison my own dinner."
"The gardener inside us doesn't disappear. It just goes into hiding."
